What are the fitness and health requirements for an Arctic Voyage?
Overall, a good level of fitness is recommended to ensure you get the most from your Arctic holiday experience.
No immunisations are required for travel into the Arctic region but if you are extending your stay in other countries, you should check the immunisation and health recommendations for these countries.
If you are considering extra activities such as kayaking, you will need to speak with one of our Polar Adventure Consultants to discuss your suitability for this extra. Some paddling experience will be required with most operators.
As part of the booking terms and conditions with all operators you will be required to advise any pre-existing medical condition and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of you requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a tour and the enjoyment of other trip members. You may be required to provide an assessment of your medical condition by completing a special Health & Fitness Questionnaire and/or a Medical Clearance Form, the latter which requires certification by a medical practitioner.
Our Polar Adventure Consultants are here to any all your questions about your health and fitness requirements on an Arctic voyage. Please contact us for more information.
